Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question? Maybe the answer is here…

why do you work freelance?

It’s better for my clients and for me. Smaller businesses rarely need or have the budget for a full-time marketing consultant so using a freelancer like me allows them to buy in support when they need it. It also allows me to work with a number of different businesses - gaining broader marketing knowledge that in turn benefits clients.

where do you work?

I am Bristol based, mainly working from home. The pandemic has changed my focus from a 50 mile radius of Bristol - to virtually anywhere, thanks to Teams, Zoom and Google calls. As long as we regularly check in, I can work with you - wherever you are located. A face to face meet up does help - and remains important of course.

do you work with charities?

Yes. I’ve worked with not for profit clients in the education and environmental sectors. I also know several marketing consultants who also work in the sector so, if you are a charity, please contact me and if I can’t help you I am happy to make some recommendations.

do you build websites?

No - but I have project managed many web builds, acting as the link between the client and the web developer and writing and editing web copy. It saves the client time - and the web developer can get the job done more quickly. If you are looking for a web developer - I know a number of trusted designers - from simple sites right up to complex e-commerce sites. I am happy to make recommendations whether I am involved or not.

do you offer social media services?

I am comfortable with LinkedIn (and particularly writing for impact on LinkedIn) and using Twitter - and I help retained clients with social media as part of my relationship with them. But, if you want a social media expert to work across all platforms and ‘do’ your social media for you, that’s not me.

what are your qualifications?

I have a BA (Hons) in Business and Marketing from the University of Greenwich and the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. I have MA in Human Resource Management from the University of the West of England. I also hold the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development (CIPD) and am a Certified NLP Practitioner (ABNLP).

are you insured?

Yes. I’m insured via PolicyBee LLP for up to £1 million cover for professional indemnity and public and products liability.

how do we get started?

I offer a free 30 minute call where we can talk through any marketing challenge you’re facing and see if we’re a good match. Please use my contact form or give me a ring on 07977 998794. If you are Bristol based we can start with a coffee - or two.

what do you charge?

Most of my work falls into my daily and hourly rate which is: £650 per day - for 7.5 hours. Hourly: £90.
